Medication alert issued

A batch of Methotrexate obtained ‘outside the regulated supply chain’ for use in Yemen and Lebanon was the subject of a Dec 27 WHO Medical Product Alert after vials for paediatric patients were found to be contaminated with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The advice also stated that ‘it is likely that this product may have been distributed to other countries through informal markets’. More details from the WHO Statement.
