Guinea worm update from western region

The WHO this week published a Disease outbreak news post on Gambella region’s recent suspected guinea worm disease (dracunculiasis) cases, updating the count to seven. Tests to confirm the infection are pending as samples must be sent to the US CDC. As many as 65 suspected cases from the districts of Gog and Abobo are being monitored until there is a definite result from the initial seven. Read more in FAQs on Guinea Worm Disease from the CDC.
