Cholera cases in at least 9 departments

Nine departments have reported confirmed cholera cases since the outbreak first began in October (Artibonite, Centre, Grand-Anse, Nippes, Nord, Nord-Ouest, Ouest, Sud and Sud-Est). The total of suspected infections now exceeds 23,000 with 464 deaths, although the Jan 4 PAHO Epidemiological Update said that infection numbers are under-reported due to the worsening humanitarian crisis and insecurity.
