Surge of infections start the year

Ho Chi Minh City experienced increased reporting of measles, dengue fever and hand, foot and mouth disease in the first week of January, according to a local news source. The 60 measles cases, from 24 city districts, were of most concern as ‘there had been no measles cases in January 2018’. Read more. Advice for travellers

Measles occurs in developing and developed countries and unvaccinated travellers are at particular risk, both in transit and during their stay. While generally benign, infection can result in severe illness or death.
