Sporadic detections of influenza variants

The ECDC has reported on three swine-origin influenza A variant virus infections: one A (H1N2)v case in Taiwan and two A(H1N1)v cases – one in the USA (Iowa) and the other in Germany (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). All three cases were known to have had exposure to pigs prior to the infections have since recovered and no onward transmission was detected among contacts.
