The highest rates of dengue fever infections and dengue-related deaths this year have been recorded in the central province of Savannakhet, followed by Attapeu and Champassak in the south – the national count to Sept. 14 is 4,600 infections and 14 deaths (the capital Vientiane has reported 585 dengue cases but no associated deaths).
