Hajj adapts to pandemic threats

Just a few weeks before the annual Hajj was set to begin (July 28 – Aug 2), it has been announced that the pilgrimage will be restricted to ‘limited numbers’ comprised of Saudi residents only of various nationalities - almost 2.5 million people were present at last year’s Hajj. Earlier this month both Indonesia and Malaysia issued a Saudi Arabia travel ban for the Hajj this year, and back in March the Saudi government suspended all visits for Umrah.
