Eastern province’s malaria cases ‘raised a red flag’

Over the past three weeks, malaria case numbers in the province of Manicaland have surged, ranging between 800 and 1,000 per week and ringing alarm bells for the national government. The death toll has also increased this year in the province, which lies along with the border with Mozambique and has three districts that rank in the national top 10 for their malaria burden.
