Côte D’Ivoire yellow fever outbreaks extends to Guinea
12-Jan-2010

A yellow fever outbreak originally reported in mid-November in the northern Denguele region of Côte D’Ivoire has spread within the region and also to neighbouring areas (Mandiana) of Guinea.

There have been deaths attributed to the disease in the Ivory Coast prompting health authorities to mount an immunisation campaign.

The outbreak in Guinea is in an area which hadn't previously reported yellow fever.

A vaccination campaign planned by the government and World Health Organisation is planned for the affected areas of Guinea.
