The federal government has updated the list of yellow fever declared countries in line with the World Health Organisation recommendations - an additional 24 countries and the Misiones province of Argentina are now included on that list.
Recent outbreaks of yellow fever in South America have led to the changes and some of those areas affected are popular with Australian tourists.
Yellow fever vaccination requirements differ from country to country so please check with the Health Department website: http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/Publishing.nsf/Content/health-pubhlth-strateg-communic-factsheets-yellow.htm or call the Travelvax infoline on 1300 360 164.
