Many travel-related diseases, which are found mainly in developing
countries, can be prevented by vaccination. Vaccinations most likely to
be recommended for travel in developing countries include Hepatitis A and
B, Typhoid, Tetanus/Diphtheria and Polio, as well as less commonly
recommended Yellow fever, Meningococcal meningitis, Rabies, Cholera,
Japanese encephalitis, Tick-borne encephalitis, Plague, Influenza,
Measles/Mumps/Rubella, Varicella and TB. Ideally, vaccinations should be
administered six weeks prior to departure.
