For some diseases
there is no vaccine. Among the most notable of these are Travellers’
Diarrhoea, some Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) and two
mosquito-borne diseases: Malaria and Dengue fever. There are other
mosquito-, insect-borne or parasitic diseases, such as schistosomiasis
that travellers to certain regions should be on guard against. There is
no preventative medication for these diseases: employing ways of avoiding
infection is essential.
