Our doctors and nurse-educators say travel medicine is one of the most enjoyable and rewarding areas of medicine in which to work. A Travelvax clinic can be busy, but fun place to work. Travel is almost always a happy, positive experience and you will share in the pre-travel excitement as the client prepares for an overseas adventure. You’ll receive ongoing training and become skilled at assessing the needs of individual travellers, identifying the health risks of their trip and counselling them on how to avoid or treat any problems that arise. Our nurse-educators say administering vaccinations is something of an ‘artform’ and you too will become an expert, combining this skill with explaining anti-malaria and other medication regimes, and offering lots of practical travel health advice.
