Certificate in Travel Health ®
Eddy Bajrovic brings with him many years of experience in general practice, travel medicine and corporate/occupational medicine coupled with a personal interest in education. He has been involved in the set up and delivery of education programs for general practitioners, nurses and paramedics and so knows only too well about the importance of educating travelers. “It is not just about the vaccines or the chemo prophylactic malaria drugs, it is about educating the traveller, providing information on the risks and how to minimize these risks that is important in the travel medicine consultation”.
Additionally, “each individual traveler is different and the advice given must be tailored to the individual’s own special circumstances, their medical history and their proposed itinery”.
Eddy comes to Travelvax through the acquisition of Gemini Medical Services, a company which he co-founded, and served on the board of directors, growing the business to become a major provider of general practice, occupational and travel medicine services.
Tonia is responsible for the day-to-day operations at Travelvax Australia. Not only the setting up of new clinics, but also the on-going training of our doctors and nurses, managing the business and generally making sure things run smoothly! She became involved with Travelvax through her volunteer nursing in Papua New Guinea, through the Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA). “Travel has always fascinated me,” said Tonia. “I grew up in Europe and have travelled extensively around the globe. Promoting good health is an important part of a nurse’s role and combining it with travel medicine makes for an interesting job. I also love talking to travellers about avoiding the travel health risks associated with their particular trip.”
Lisa has been spreading the word about Travelvax since Melbourne's first clinic was set-up in the CBD in 1997. "It's been fantastic and really rewarding developing the awareness of Travelvax with the Travel Industry and Corporate Travellers and to work with a company going from strength to strength as we spread our service into the suburbs and around Australia. A very big thank you to all travel consultants who support and see the benefits of referring their clients to Travelvax".
Ruth has spent much of her working life travelling. Her diverse background includes working as a registered nurse in holiday villages in New Caledonia, Egypt and Mexico and 18 years as an international flight attendant. Now, as NSW Business Development Co-ordinator, she works to promote our company with travel agents and the travelling public.
